The Zermatt Collection captures moments where earth and sky meet in breathless silence. Each painting reflects not just a landscape, but a feeling — the rising mist, the pull of distant peaks, the flicker of light across ancient stone.Though each piece stands on its own, they all unfolded through a shared rhythm — a journey from chaos to clarity, from texture to light.
Below, I invite you to step into this journey: from the first marks to the final breath of color, see how each painting came to life.
The 5 Steps of the Journey
The Beginning — A raw, intuitive start. Broad strokes and textured grounds are laid down quickly, capturing the energy and emotional foundation of the piece.
Building the Structure — Finding the bones of the landscape. The major shapes and contrasts emerge, setting the rhythm and composition of the work.
Finding the Atmosphere — The spirit of the scene awakens.Layers of color and blending start to evoke light, air, and movement across the canvas.
Texture and Depth — History written in paint.Scraping, layering, and carving, build dimension — creating the rugged surfaces that echo the geological soul of the mountains.
Breath of Life — The final energy. With a few deliberate gestures, light is infused, tensions are resolved, and the painting breathes as a living entity.
Some paintings, I literally breathe out — the five steps unfold in fewer sessions, and the work reveals itself early in the journey. Other paintings take much longer, with some steps requiring multiple, often painful reincarnations before the final piece comes together
Breath of the Mountain
"The mountain exhales — mist rising from stone, light stirring in hidden valleys. 'Breath of the Mountain' began as a feeling, a quiet reverence for the living heart of the Alps."
| Building the Structure – "Establishing the main forms and energy of the mountain." | Finding the Atmosphere – "Layering color, beginning to create mist and light effects." | Texture and Depth – "Adding complexity through texture to evoke ruggedness and airiness." | Breath of Life – "Final adjustments: highlights, shadows, and bringing the mountain’s spirit to life." | Completed Piece – "Breath of Mountain, finished — a quiet but powerful presence." |

Current of the Sky
"Above the peaks, the sky is never still — clouds race, winds carve invisible rivers through the heavens. 'Current of the Sky' follows their restless, ceaseless dance."

Silent Storm
"Sometimes, the greatest tension lies not in the storm itself, but in the heavy, trembling silence before it breaks. 'Silent Storm' holds that charged, electric stillness."

Alpine Morning
"At first light, the mountains soften — veiled in pale gold and quiet mist. 'Alpine Morning' is a memory of those rare, hushed moments when the day is just beginning to breathe."

Unveiled
"There are moments when the mist parts and the mountains reveal their true, raw beauty — sudden, breathtaking, undeniable. 'Unveiled' captures that fleeting, sacred unveiling."

Boundless
"Standing at the edge of the world, the sky and earth seem to dissolve into one endless horizon. 'Boundless' is a tribute to that wild, limitless expanse."
Boundless was one of those paintings that took a lot longer than expected. I got stuck somewhere between steps 3 and 4, and the journey felt like an endless dance of trial and error. With multiple reincarnations, I had to step back repeatedly to find the right path forward. This piece, unlike the others, revealed itself slowly, with the breakthrough moment coming only after much persistence and patience.

Every layer holds a breath, a memory, a moment.
As you follow their evolution, I hope you feel some of the wonder that first stirred among the peaks — the quiet reminder that everything, even stone, is alive.
Thank you for following along this journey.
To recap the steps:
The Beginning — Laying the emotional groundwork with loose, intuitive marks.
Building the Structure — Defining major forms, movement, and contrast.
Finding the Atmosphere — Developing light, depth, and the feeling of space.
